Bengaluru, Karnataka – Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah participated in the TCS World 10K event held in Bengaluru on Sunday, commending the race as a “world-class event” characterized by significant enthusiasm and widespread participation. Following the completion of the run, Abdullah shared his impressions with reporters, highlighting the event’s exemplary organization and vibrant atmosphere.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Abdullah described the marathon as “amazing” and “world-class,” with “fantastic enthusiasm,” reflecting positively on his experience at one of India’s leading road races. He noted that while he maintained a strong pace at the outset, the humidity of Bengaluru presented a considerable challenge as the race progressed. “I started a bit fast, but the humidity of Bengaluru then caught up with me,” he remarked, acknowledging the physical demands imposed by the city’s climate.

The TCS World 10K marathon is recognized as one of the most prestigious long-distance running events in India, attracting a diverse field of elite athletes, amateur runners, and prominent public figures from both domestic and international spheres. The event is known for upholding international standards and drawing large numbers of participants.

This is not the first time Abdullah has engaged with marathon events; he has a history of participating in similar runs. Previously, he has taken part in races held in Srinagar and Jammu, underscoring his sustained interest in fitness and public sporting engagements. His participation in Sunday’s Bengaluru event adds to a growing trend of political leaders engaging with public sporting platforms, often utilized as a means to promote health awareness and foster community involvement.
