JAMMU, Apr 25: Managing Director of Jammu & Kashmir Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO), Pardeep Singh Manhas, held a crucial meeting with the Industrial Associations and unit holders of the Industrial Growth Centre (IGC) in Samba to bolster industry collaboration and reinforce environmental safeguarding measures within the managed industrial estates.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the meeting underscored the critical importance of the operational status of the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) established in IGC, Samba. Participants stressed that the effective running of the CETP, utilized by the industrial associations and units, is paramount for adhering to environmental regulations.
Pardeep Singh Manhas urged all stakeholders to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the industrial associations, industrial units, and SIDCO. This agreement is intended to ensure the successful and compliant operation of the CETP, thereby facilitating adherence to the guidelines set by the Pollution Control Board (PCB) and fulfilling the directives of the Supreme Court of India concerning such facilities.
During his visit to the IGC, Samba, the Managing Director also undertook an inspection of ongoing developmental works within the industrial estate. He issued directives to the engineering wing, emphasizing the need for timely completion of these projects, which are vital for the expansion and modernization of industrial infrastructure in the region.
The meeting was attended by several key officials, including the Superintendent Engineer (Civil), General Manager (A&P), General Manager (Jammu), Executive Engineer (Civil), and Manager (Finance/A&P), highlighting the corporation’s comprehensive engagement with the industrial sector in Jammu.
