President Droupadi Murmu commenced a six-day visit to Himachal Pradesh on Monday, arriving in Shimla to a formal welcome by state dignitaries. Her itinerary includes visits to key state landmarks such as the Atal Tunnel and attendance at a banquet at Lok Bhavan.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the President landed at the Kalyani helipad in Chharabra, located approximately 14 kilometres from the state capital. From there, she was escorted to Rashtrapati Niwas in Mashobra, her official residence during the visit.
Governor Kavinder Gupta and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu were among the prominent figures present to greet President Murmu upon her arrival. The presidential visit is set to span from April 27 to May 2.
During her stay, President Murmu is expected to undertake tours to significant institutions and locations within the state.
