Jammu and Kashmir Government Appoints 57 Assistant Accounts Officers as Incharge Accounts Officers

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has assigned 57 Assistant Accounts Officers from the JK Subordinate Accounts Service the additional responsibility of Incharge Accounts Officers. This move is a temporary arrangement, intended to fill existing vacancies on a stop-gap basis for a period of six months or until the Jammu and Kashmir Accounts (Gazetted) Service vacancies are filled through the Departmental Promotion Committee or the Public Service Commission, whichever occurs sooner.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that a Government Order, No. 169-F of 2026, issued on April 29 by the Finance Department, outlines the directives for these appointments. The officers will assume their new roles in their existing pay scales and grades. They will also be eligible for charge allowance as per established rules. The administration has emphasized that this temporary arrangement has been made in the interest of administrative efficiency and does not guarantee any preferential right for regular promotion to the position of Accounts Officer.

The 57 officers who have been assigned the additional charge include Anil Kumar Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah (RBA), Sajad Ahmad Wani, Haroon Rashid Nowsheri, Ganesh Dutt, Kasturi Lal (SC), Gurpreet Singh, Tajinder Paul Singh, Kiran Bala (SC), Kulbinder Singh Choudhary, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Devi Dayal, Reyaz Ahmad Dand, Vijay Kumar (SC), Kamal Singh Pathania, Sunita Koul, Ajeet Kumar Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Asgar Hussain Matoo (RBA), Masood Ahmad (RBA), Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday (RBA), Javeed Ahmad Shah (RBA), Urfana Bashir (RBA), Annaytullah (ST), Mohd Sadiq (ST), Mohd Akram (ST), Mahmood Ahmad (ST), Mushtaq Ahmad (ST), Bagh Hussain (ST), Mohd Shakil (ST), Mohd Shabir Anjum (ST), Mohd Yaseen Bhat, Bajinder Singh, Nuzhat Parveen, Bashir Ahmad Rather, Manmeet Singh, Jawid Ahmad Dar, Rajiv Gupta, Rajinder Kumar (SC), Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Farida Banoo, Mohd Iqbal Kaloo, Som Raj Bhardwaj (SC), Mohd Shafi Lone, Mohd Amin Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Altaf Hussain Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Sangeeta Mishra, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Promilla Pandita, Ashok Gupta, Tulsi Dass (SC), Sonia Sharma, Renu Dhar, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, and Shabir Ahmad Rather.

The order further clarifies that this arrangement is entirely temporary and is subject to the final outcome of any writ petitions or legal proceedings that may be pending before any competent courts or tribunals. This provision ensures that the administrative appointments do not prejudice any ongoing legal matters or future departmental promotions.
