SRINAGAR, May 03: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, has initiated a significant organizational move by forming a committee tasked with strengthening the party’s presence and outreach across the Union Territory.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the newly constituted panel will be led by senior PDP leader and former Member of Parliament, Dr. Mehboob Beg. The committee’s membership includes Advocate Abdul Haq Khan, Peerzada Mansoor, Yasir Reshi, and Waheed Para, all prominent figures within the party structure.

Sources within the PDP indicated that the formation of this committee is a strategic step aimed at revitalizing the party’s grassroots base and expanding its influence. The leadership expressed confidence that new leaders would join the party in the coming days, citing a growing willingness among individuals to become part of the PDP’s mission. This push for expansion and reinforcement underscores the party’s commitment to addressing the aspirations and concerns of the populace.

The PDP leadership highlighted the importance of strengthening the party’s grassroots foundation as a crucial element for effectively tackling public issues and ensuring robust representation at the local level. This focus on local empowerment stems from a perceived disillusionment among the electorate, attributed to the perceived failures of previous administrations to meet public expectations. The party’s outreach efforts are being intensified, with leaders and workers actively engaging with citizens to provide necessary assistance and highlight their issues.

Further emphasis was placed on the PDP’s long-standing role in the political landscape of the region. The newly formed committee is expected to commence its duties immediately, with a clear mandate to fortify party units, mobilize support, and lay the groundwork for future political endeavors. The PDP has consistently maintained that its primary objective remains the articulation and resolution of issues faced by ordinary citizens, ensuring their concerns are brought to the forefront through appropriate channels.

The move by the PDP president is viewed as a constructive step towards enhancing the party’s capacity to champion the cause of the common man. By focusing on organizational strengthening, the PDP aims to be better positioned to address the multifaceted challenges confronting the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative reflects a broader strategy to consolidate its political position and re-engage with the electorate on key issues.
