A man allegedly jumped into the Agra Canal along with his two children late Sunday night near Deeg Fatehpur Billoch village in Faridabad district. Police and fire brigade teams were alerted and launched a search operation immediately after receiving information. The man’s motorcycle was found abandoned on the canal ridge, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to locate the individuals.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday. A senior police official confirmed that the control room received a report of the father and his two children entering the canal. Emergency services, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the fire brigade, were dispatched to the scene to commence rescue and recovery operations. The authorities are treating the incident as a potential suicide.

The motorcycle discovered on the bridge over the Agra Canal bore a registration number from Palwal district. Preliminary investigations suggest the man might be a resident of Asavati village in Palwal. The police have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the incident, including any potential motives. Family members have reportedly indicated that the man was experiencing stress due to marital discord, but have not provided further specific details to the authorities.

The Agra Canal, a significant water body in the region, has unfortunately been the site of similar tragedies in the recent past. In a separate incident, a dental surgeon reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the Sector 17 bridge over the Agra Canal within 24 hours of the latest event. Following an extensive search operation that lasted approximately 20 hours, the doctor’s body was recovered from the canal on Sunday. Sources familiar with that case indicated that the surgeon’s action followed an argument with his wife, highlighting a recurring pattern of distress and family disputes potentially leading to such extreme measures.

The police are continuing their search operation along the canal, appealing to the public for any information that might assist in locating the missing individuals. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining all available leads to understand the full context of the incident. The discovery of the motorcycle is a key piece of evidence, and efforts are underway to trace its owner and establish a timeline of events. The broader Faridabad district, like many urban and semi-urban areas, faces challenges related to mental health support and crisis intervention, and authorities are reportedly assessing the available resources in light of these repeated incidents.

The recovery of the dental surgeon’s body earlier on Sunday underscored the critical need for timely intervention and support systems for individuals experiencing mental distress. The authorities have stated that they are working to gather more information about the father and his children, including their identities and any specific personal circumstances that may have contributed to this unfortunate event. The focus remains on the immediate search and rescue efforts, with a thorough investigation to follow once the individuals are located.
