PESHAWAR, Pakistan – Three children were killed and two others sustained injuries in a devastating explosion that occurred outside their residence in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to police reports.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the blast took place late on Wednesday in the Ghwa Khwa area of Lower South Waziristan, a region bordering Afghanistan. The explosion was attributed to explosive material that had been planted in a motorcycle.
Police officials stated that the motorcycle was allegedly parked outside the house of a local resident identified as Saddam Hussain by an unknown individual shortly before the detonation. The children who lost their lives have been identified as Shah Hussain, aged 15, Sanaya Bibi, aged 7, and Soreen Bibi, aged 8. The injured children were promptly transported to Headquarters Hospital Wana for medical treatment.
Following the incident, security forces and local police swiftly cordoned off the affected area and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the blast. Residents of the Ghwa Khwa area expressed profound sorrow and anger over the tragic loss of young lives, describing the incident as a heinous act and demanding swift action against those responsible for the attack.
Local sources indicated that unidentified militants had once again targeted unarmed civilians in the region. The exact motive behind the planting of the explosive-laden motorcycle remains under investigation by the authorities.
