Himachal Pradesh Class 10 Board Exam Results Announced; Kangra Student Tops State

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has announced the results for the Class 10 examinations held in March 2026. The overall pass percentage for the academic year stands at 83.87 per cent, with a significant number of students successfully clearing the examinations.

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that a total of 93,661 students appeared for the Class 10 board examinations. Of these, 78,150 students have passed, while 8,433 have been placed in the compartment category. A total of 6,559 students failed to meet the passing criteria.

During the result declaration, HPBOSE Chairman Dr Rajesh Sharma provided a breakdown of the student demographics. A total of 48,097 male candidates and 45,079 female candidates participated in the examinations. The data further revealed that 39,701 boys and 38,449 girls successfully passed the examinations.

The merit list for the Class 10 examinations featured 107 students, with girls constituting the majority at 83. Anmol, a student from A V M Sr Sec School, Pahra, Kangra, secured the top position in the state. Anmol achieved an impressive score of 699 marks, equating to 99.86 per cent.

Following closely, three students jointly secured the second rank with 698 marks, representing 99.71 per cent. These meritorious students are Roohani Dhiman from Govt Sr Sec School, Rapoh Missran, Una; Purnima Sharma from Govt Girls Sr Sec School, Bilaspur; and Abhinav Mehta from Govt Sr Sec School, Rapoh Missran, Una.

The third rank was jointly achieved by Alisha Thakur of Oxford School, Kotli Mandi, and Ashwika of Neelam Public School, Bihru, Hamirpur. Both students scored 697 marks, which translates to 99.57 per cent.

Four students have been placed at the fourth rank, each scoring 696 marks or 99.43 per cent. These students are Knish and Ishita Walia from Bharti Vidyapeeth Public Sr Sec School, Baijnath, Kangra; Asmita Sharma from Kid Buds Public Sr Sec School, Panga, Hamirpur; and Shruti from Dhruva Adarsh Vidyalaya, Chhiachhi, Solan.

The fifth rank was shared by eight students, all achieving 695 marks, equivalent to 99.29 per cent. These students include Sakshi Kumari from Govt Girls Sr Sec School, Rohru, Shimla; Deepika from Govt Sr Sec School, Tatta Pani, Mandi; Harshita from Him Sarvodaya Sr Sec School, Ghumarwin, Bilaspur; Abhimanyu Patyal from R K Sr Sec Public School, Ghandalwin, Bilaspur; Diksha from Sarswati Vidya Mandir, Hatgarh, Mandi; Angel Sharma and Anshika Rana from Bharti Vidyapeeth Public Sr Sec School, Baijnath, Kangra; and Arushi from Kid Buds Public Sr Sec School, Panga, Bilaspur.

The HPBOSE Chairman, Dr Sharma, extended his congratulations to the successful students, their teachers, and their parents. He affirmed the board’s commitment to upholding transparency and quality within the examination system. He also encouraged students who did not clear the examination to prepare diligently for the supplementary examinations, advising them not to lose confidence.

The board has made the detailed examination results accessible on its official website. Students wishing to apply for re-evaluation or re-checking of their answer sheets have been given a window until May 25 to submit their online applications. The facility aims to provide students with an opportunity to review their performance.
