DODA, May 13: Akash Kotwal, a young Chenabi football player from Kahilla village in the Thathri area of Doda district, has been selected to represent the Jammu and Kashmir U20 football team in the upcoming Swami Vivekanand National Championship to be held in Chhattisgarh.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, Akash Kotwal is the son of Subhash Chander and Prabha Devi. His selection to the J&K U20 squad has been welcomed across the Thathri region and Doda district, with local residents and sports enthusiasts describing it as a proud moment for the area.
The Swami Vivekanand National Championship is regarded as a major platform for emerging football talent from different states and union territories across the country. Kotwal’s inclusion in the J&K squad reflects his performance, training, and continued dedication to the sport.
Akash Kotwal is scheduled to join the J&K team for the championship campaign in Chhattisgarh, where teams from across India will compete in the national-level event.
