Saran, Bihar – Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, performed the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ ceremony on Sunday for the upcoming Adani Centre for Eye Diseases (ACE). The facility, being established in association with the Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital in the Mastichak area of Bihar’s Saran district, aims to enhance accessible and affordable eye care services.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Adani, accompanied by Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, participated in the foundational rituals. Earlier, the couple visited the Gayatri Shaktipeeth in the locality to offer prayers. In a social media post, Gautam Adani stated that the Adani Akhand Jyoti Trust is committed to supporting such initiatives with an investment exceeding ₹700 crore in the coming years. He described Bihar as a land that instills new consciousness in the nation and expressed that the project is an effort to bring ‘new light’ to the country through the spirit of service.

Adani shared his profound emotional experience upon arriving in Bihar, noting a distinct spiritual inspiration at the Gayatri Shaktipeeth. He emphasized that restoring vision is more than medical treatment; it is about reinstating hope, self-confidence, and dignity in individuals’ lives. He lauded the efforts of the Gayatri family, Akhand Jyoti, and Mrityunjay Ji for their societal contributions, stating that ‘Seva Hi Sadhana Hai’ (Service is Devotion) is a guiding principle for the Adani Foundation, translating compassion into action.

The Adani Centre for Eye Diseases is a joint initiative of the Adani Foundation and Akhand Jyoti Hospital. The center is intended to significantly bolster the provision of eye care to underserved populations. Complementing the ACE, the Adani Training Centre for Ophthalmic Medicine (ATOM) will be established to train a new generation of eye specialists and female healthcare workers. Adani expressed a commitment to expanding this service model across the nation to reach every individual in need.

The Adani Group’s involvement in healthcare infrastructure development in Bihar underscores a broader commitment to social welfare and community development. The establishment of the Adani Centre for Eye Diseases is anticipated to become a significant medical hub in the region, addressing the prevalence of visual impairments and providing advanced treatment options closer to the populace. The project aligns with national health objectives focused on preventable blindness and improving the quality of life for citizens through enhanced medical facilities.
