SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir conducted a review of the arrangements at the Hazratbal Dargah on Monday, a day before key festival celebrations are set to commence.
The Chenab Times has learned that the visit was focused on ensuring comprehensive facilities for the anticipated surge of devotees. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the administration’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and peaceful celebratory atmosphere for the festival of brotherhood.
“I had come here to see the arrangements so that people can celebrate the festival of brotherhood happily. The administration has tried to make the best arrangements,” Sinha stated during his visit, highlighting the preparatory measures undertaken.
Officials briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the extensive arrangements in place, which included security protocols, sanitation services, traffic management plans, and healthcare provisions for the devotees visiting the prominent shrine. These measures are designed to accommodate a large number of visitors expected during the festival period.
In addition to reviewing the logistical arrangements, Lieutenant Governor Sinha acknowledged the vital role played by religious leaders in supporting the ongoing “Nasha Mukht JK Abhiyan,” a campaign aimed at eradicating drug abuse within the Union Territory. He commended their significant contribution to raising awareness among the youth and guiding them towards a more positive future, underscoring the administration’s multi-faceted approach to community welfare.
The review at Hazratbal is part of a broader administrative effort to ensure public safety and convenience during significant religious and cultural events. The focus on coordinated efforts across various departments, including security and public health, aims to preempt any potential issues and enhance the experience for all attendees.
