SRINAGAR: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is forecast to experience pleasant weather conditions over the next ten days, with no significant heatwave activity anticipated. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain close to seasonal averages across the Kashmir Valley.
The Chenab Times has learned that while isolated days might see temperatures slightly above normal, intermittent weather patterns are predicted to prevent any sustained heat build-up. This meteorological outlook suggests continued comfortable conditions throughout the region.
In the plains of Jammu, temperatures are projected to see a further increase on Wednesday. However, a downward trend is expected to begin from Thursday onwards, with a more noticeable drop in mercury levels anticipated on Friday and Saturday. This cooling spell is expected to provide relief from the recent warmer conditions. Nevertheless, forecasts indicate a potential for temperatures to start rising again from May 31.
Overall meteorological assessments for the Union Territory indicate that despite ongoing short-term temperature fluctuations, a significant threat of a heatwave is not foreseen during the current forecast period. The weather office has advised that while it is prudent to remain aware of daily temperature variations, extreme heat conditions are unlikely to affect Jammu and Kashmir in the immediate future.
The forecasting models consider various atmospheric factors that influence temperature and precipitation patterns across the northern region. The prevailing weather systems suggest a balance between warm air masses and the possibility of localized weather disturbances, which collectively contribute to preventing the development of severe heatwave conditions.
Residents of both the Kashmir Valley and the Jammu plains can expect a continuation of generally mild weather, allowing for normal daily activities. The predicted rainfall or cloud cover, even if minor, plays a crucial role in regulating daytime highs and preventing the accumulation of excessive heat.
The Met Department’s continuous monitoring of weather phenomena ensures timely updates and forecasts. This reliable information helps authorities and the public to prepare for prevailing conditions and avoid any adverse impacts from extreme weather events. The current forecast provides a degree of predictability for the upcoming ten days, emphasizing a period of respite from intense heat.
