Woman Critically Injured in Uttar Pradesh Shooting; Land Dispute Suspected

A 40-year-old woman was shot and critically injured during her morning walk in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. Police are investigating the incident, which they suspect is linked to a land dispute.

The attack occurred at approximately 5:10 a.m. near the village secretariat in Daheliya Pooth village. The victim, identified as Sadhana Mishra, had stepped out for her routine morning walk when a vehicle reportedly stopped near her, and several individuals began to follow her. One of the assailants then opened fire, hitting her and causing severe injuries.

Emergency services were alerted, and police rushed to the scene, subsequently transporting the woman to the Community Health Centre in Aliganj. Due to the critical nature of her gunshot wound, she was later referred to a specialized medical center.

While en route to the hospital, the victim claimed to have identified two of the alleged attackers, naming them as Ballu and Gulbahar. Station House Officer of Jasrathpur, Vijay Singh, confirmed that police teams inspected the crime scene and have initiated an investigation.

According to preliminary findings, the incident is believed to be connected to a land dispute. Police stated that while no formal complaint has been lodged yet, efforts are actively underway to trace and apprehend the accused individuals. The investigation is ongoing.
