Four members of a family were discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district, authorities confirmed on Wednesday. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, exploring multiple possibilities including familial disputes and potential criminal connections.

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the bodies were recovered from two distinct locations associated with the family.

Prayagraj Additional Police Commissioner Ajay Pal Sharma informed reporters that the discovery began with the initial finding of three bodies at the residence of Virendra Vaish in South Malaka. The victims were identified as Virendra Vaish, his wife, and their daughter. A fourth body, believed to be that of their son Abhishek, was subsequently found in a locked, vacant shop owned by the family.

Police also revealed that another son of the deceased, Ashwini Vaish, is currently incarcerated in Kaushambi Jail on fraud charges. A significant element of the investigation is a message found written on a wall at the crime scene, which reads “Bunti Babli aur bahu ne maara.” This message is being treated as a key piece of evidence and is under thorough examination.

To gather further clues, multiple police teams have been deployed to review CCTV footage from the vicinity and collect forensic evidence. The forensic team is actively examining fingerprints and other trace evidence from the scene. Five teams are specifically tasked with scrutinizing CCTV recordings for any relevant leads.

Preliminary findings suggest that the victims may have been killed using a blunt object, although investigators have not discounted other methods. Officials also indicated that internal family tensions, coupled with the criminal history of both sons, are being considered as part of the ongoing probe. The police are investigating the possibility of a dispute between the two sons, both of whom have reportedly been involved in criminal activities.

Both the residence and the shop premises were found to be locked at the time of the initial inspection. These locations have been thoroughly searched as part of the investigation. Authorities have stated that the locks on both the shop and house doors have been meticulously examined.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to establish the sequence of events and identify any individuals involved in the deaths.
