SRINAGAR: The Finance Department of the Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued new orders assigning additional charges to multiple officers across various departments, a move aimed at ensuring administrative continuity and efficiency. These appointments are effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice or the return of the incumbent officers.

The Chenab Times has learned that Government Order No. 205-F of 2026, dated June 4, outlines these new arrangements for key personnel within the administrative structure.

Nagesh Jamwal, currently serving as Financial Advisor/Chief Accounts Officer at Cluster University Jammu, has been given the additional responsibility of Chief Accounts Officer for the Directorate of Social Welfare Jammu. This dual role will be in effect until the officer currently holding the position returns from leave.

In Kupwara, Mohd Ashraf Ahanger, who holds the position of Chief Accounts Officer at the District Fund Office, will now also oversee the functions of CP and AO at DUDA Kupwara. This additional charge is in place pending further orders from the department.

Gulzar Ahmad, working as an Accounts and Treasury Officer (ATO) in the District Treasury Anantnag, has been assigned the additional duty of Treasury Officer for Pahalgam. This extension of responsibilities aims to streamline treasury operations in the region.

Mohammad Yousuf Najar, an Accounts Officer at the District Fund Office Kulgam, has been tasked with an additional role as Accounts Officer for the Verinag Tourism Development Authority. This appointment is made in addition to his existing duties, reflecting the department’s need for extended administrative coverage.

Further appointments include Mudasir Zaman Drabu, an Accounts Officer with JKPCL Kashmir, who has been assigned the additional charge of Accounts Officer for the JK Forest Development Corporation. This move is expected to bolster financial oversight within the forest sector.

Additionally, Abdul Rashid Malik, an Accounts Officer serving the SSP Office in Baramulla, will now also hold the additional charge of Pay and Accounts Officer for DUDA Baramulla. This consolidation of responsibilities seeks to enhance administrative synergy within the Baramulla district.

These reassignments are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to manage departmental functions effectively amidst staffing changes and administrative exigencies. The Finance Department has stated that such arrangements are temporary and will be reviewed as and when the need arises or incumbents resume their duties.
