NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh – A fire broke out at a commercial complex in Sector 52 of Noida on Friday morning, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Fifteen individuals were safely rescued from the building, which houses a restaurant on the ground floor and a paying guest (PG) facility on the upper floors. Officials suspect a short circuit in a freezer at the restaurant may have been the cause of the blaze.
Firefighters Respond to Sector 52 Incident
The fire was reported near Shatabdi Vihar, falling under the Sector 24 police station limits. Upon receiving the alert, fire service units and local police were dispatched to the scene and immediately commenced firefighting and rescue operations. According to Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar, the fire was successfully brought under control and no loss of life was reported. The rescue teams were able to evacuate all 15 people present inside the complex without any casualties.
The Chenab Times has learned that the incident occurred while fire department teams were already engaged in another firefighting operation at a high-rise residential society in Sector 75, where flames had engulfed two flats on the 12th floor. Chief Fire Officer Kumar emphasized the promptness of their response to the Sector 52 incident, noting that any significant delay could have led to a more severe outcome.
Concurrent Operations and Suspected Cause
The Sector 52 fire, which reportedly began due to a short circuit in a restaurant freezer, was contained efficiently. Simultaneously, firefighters were battling a separate blaze in Sector 75. In that incident, a fire had broken out in a 12th-floor flat of a high-rise residential society, leading to the evacuation of the building as a precautionary measure. Preliminary investigations into the Sector 75 fire suggested a possible short circuit in an air conditioner or lamp as the trigger, though the exact cause was still under investigation.
Multiple news outlets, including The Hindu and The Economic Times, reported on the Sector 52 fire, corroborating the details of the rescue of 15 people and the suspected cause being a short circuit. The swift action of the fire department in controlling both incidents prevented any loss of life.
