Six members of a family, including children, sustained injuries when their vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down a slope near Dubjan on the Mughal Road in Shopian district on Friday.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the accident occurred within the jurisdiction of Police Station Heerpora. A Swift car, bearing registration number JK11D-4114, was travelling from Rajouri towards Shopian when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the incident.
The driver, identified as Sunil Sharma, also sustained injuries in the accident.
The injured have been identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar; Pallavi Chandan, wife of Rajesh Kumar; Aarav Kumar, son of Rajesh Kumar; Prachi, daughter of Rajesh Kumar; and Dua Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar. All the injured individuals are residents of Rajouri.
Following the accident, rescue teams and local authorities promptly arrived at the scene. All injured individuals were transported to the District Hospital Shopian for immediate medical attention.
Sources at the hospital indicated that the injured have been admitted for treatment and are currently under observation. Medical professionals are assessing their conditions.
The local police have registered a case regarding the incident and have initiated further proceedings to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident.
