Following the plantation drive, Governor Ravi laid the foundation stone for the ‘Auroville Plaza’. Sources indicate that the ‘Auroville Plaza’ project is being developed by HCBS (Home Construction and Business Solutions). The Governor’s engagement with Auroville has been a subject of public discourse. In late 2022, a petition was filed in the Madras High Court alleging that Governor Ravi held an office of profit as the chairman of the Auroville Foundation, which, according to the petition, could lead to disqualification from his gubernatorial post. This legal challenge, however, did not deter his continued involvement in the township’s developmental activities.
