Police in Uttar Pradesh have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against an individual following the emergence of a video online that purportedly shows him making objectionable statements concerning Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during an altercation at a petrol pump. The incident has led to a swift police response and demands for the accused’s immediate apprehension.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that senior police officials confirmed the registration of the case. Additional Superintendent of Police Vishal Pandey stated that the police took suo motu cognisance of the viral video and subsequently filed the FIR. To facilitate the arrest of the accused, police teams have been formed and deployed.
The video, lasting approximately 41 seconds and reportedly filmed at a petrol pump located in the Nahar Balaganj area, depicts a man arriving on a motorcycle. An argument ensues between the man and a petrol pump employee over the service of filling fuel. During this exchange, the man allegedly uttered remarks considered offensive directed at the Chief Minister, according to police accounts. The recording is said to have been made by an onlooker and was later widely circulated across social media platforms.
The incident has drawn reactions from various political figures. Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have publicly condemned the alleged remarks and urged the authorities for prompt action, demanding the swift arrest of the individual involved. The police have indicated that the identity of the accused has been established, and further legal proceedings are underway.
Dhirendra Pratap Singh, the chairman of the Balrampur Municipal Council, voiced his concerns over the incident. He alleged that such occurrences have a detrimental impact on communal harmony within the district and raised questions regarding the prevailing law and order situation. Singh also indicated his intention to initiate protests if the situation does not see immediate improvement.
