SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has announced the release of the Round-2 College/Major Allotment List for Undergraduate (UG) and Integrated Postgraduate (IPG) admissions for the academic session 2026-27. Candidates who have been allotted a seat in this round have been instructed to complete their admission formalities by June 19.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the admission process for these programmes in government degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir commenced with the issuance of an Admission Advertisement Notice by the Directorate of Colleges. Following a notice extending the deadline for online application and preference submission up to May 30, the Round-1 College/Major Allotment List was published on the centralised admission portal.

Subsequent representations from aspirants led to an extension of the last date for online fee deposition for Round-1 allotted candidates until June 8, with a corresponding adjustment in the schedule for physical document verification at the allotted colleges. Candidates who did not receive an allotment in Round-1 were given an opportunity to update their college and programme preferences between June 8 and June 10 to be considered for the second round of allotments.

The Round-2 Allotment List, which includes upgradation and fresh allotments, is scheduled to be published on the Centralised Admission Portal, https://jkadmissions.in, on June 13 at 5:00 PM. Successful candidates will be able to log in to the portal to check their status and initiate the prescribed admission procedures.

The process for Round-2 mirrors that of the first round. Candidates securing a seat in Round-2 will need to confirm their allotment by submitting the requisite admission fee online and completing the physical verification of their original documents at the designated college within the stipulated schedule. Importantly, there will be no option for candidates to request an ‘Opt for Upgradation’ in this round.

Key dates for the Round-2 admission process include the publication of the allotment list on June 13, followed by the submission of online fees from June 13 to June 18. Physical document verification at the allotted colleges is also scheduled between June 13 and June 19, with the final deadline for the completion of all admission formalities set for June 19 at 3:00 PM.

Failure to adhere to the prescribed schedule for completing admission formalities will lead to the cancellation of the Round-2 allotment. Such cancelled seats will subsequently be made available for the Spot Round, the notification for which will be issued separately on the admission portal.

The Higher Education Department has issued important instructions, emphasizing that any discrepancies or incorrect claims regarding marks, category, eligibility, or other admission-related information may result in the rejection of a candidate’s application at any stage. Applicants are also advised to use a valid mobile number and email address for all communication related to their admissions.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to regularly visit the official admission portal for timely updates, notices, merit lists, and schedule changes. The department has stated that no requests for alterations to merit-related information will be entertained. The decisions of the Admission Committee or the Competent Authority concerning eligibility, merit, verification, and seat allotment will be considered final and binding.

For continuous updates, aspirants are advised to monitor the admission website https://jkadmissions.in and the official WhatsApp Channel for Admissions 2026-27.
