DRABSHALLA, June 15: Tehsildar Drabshalla, accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Kuntwara and members of the revenue department, visited flood-affected areas of Dalhoti and adjoining villages on Monday to assess the damage caused by recent flash floods and heavy rainfall.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the officials conducted on-ground inspections of affected locations and reviewed losses suffered by local residents. The revenue team interacted with affected families and assured them that the administration would provide all possible assistance and relief measures in accordance with government norms.
During the visit, the Tehsildar directed concerned departments to carry out detailed field inspections and prepare comprehensive damage assessment reports to facilitate restoration and mitigation works at the earliest. He emphasized the need for immediate measures, including strengthening protection works, improving drainage systems, and addressing other infrastructure-related concerns in the affected areas.
The administration assured residents that their grievances would be addressed on a priority basis. The Tehsildar said the matter would be taken up with the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar to facilitate compensation and relief for affected families as per established government procedures.
He also appealed to residents to remain cautious during the ongoing monsoon season and avoid venturing near rivers, streams, nallahs, and other vulnerable locations during periods of heavy rainfall. People were advised to ensure the safety of their family members and move livestock, including sheep and goats, to secure locations until weather conditions improve.
Highlighting the continuing risk posed by monsoon rains, the Tehsildar urged residents to remain vigilant, follow official advisories, and avoid unnecessary movement in flood-prone areas. He said public safety remains the administration’s top priority and advised people to stay in safe locations until the weather stabilizes.
Local residents welcomed the visit by the revenue authorities and expressed hope that restoration work and relief measures would be undertaken promptly to address the challenges faced by the affected communities.
