A 24-year-old married woman in Nagpur has accused a former school acquaintance and his associates of rape, blackmail, extortion, and forced religious conversion. Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and arrested two individuals in connection with the case, while a third suspect remains at large.

The complainant, whose husband is an Indian Air Force officer posted outside the city, reported that the primary accused, Ayyaz Taj Madare, had befriended her under the guise of assisting with a property business. According to the FIR, Madare allegedly spiked her drink with a sedative during a meeting at a hotel on February 8, 2025, rendering her unconscious. While she was incapacitated, he is accused of recording compromising photographs and videos of her. These alleged recordings were then used to blackmail her, with threats of circulating the material publicly and sharing it with her husband.

The woman claims that over a period, the accused extorted nearly Rs 4 lakh from her. In a further allegation, she stated that on May 31, Madare and an accomplice took her to Kalmeshwar. There, a third accused, identified as Hazrat Maulana from Tamiya village in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, allegedly performed rituals and forced her to utter phrases as part of a conversion ritual. She further stated that Maulana declared her converted to Islam and “married” to Ayyaz, after which she was allegedly forced to eat meat. The group then reportedly took her to a hotel where Ayyaz again raped her. She also alleged that the accused continued to visit her residence and sexually assaulted her multiple times thereafter.

A viral video has also surfaced, reportedly showing the woman pleading while a man, identified as Madare, holds her hands and chants religious verses. The woman alleges that this was part of the forced conversion and hypnosis process.

The Sonegaon Police have registered an FIR and arrested Ayyaz Taj Madare and his associate Ameen Shaikh. A search is underway for Hazrat Maulana. Police have invoked provisions of Maharashtra’s anti-black magic law and are thoroughly investigating the allegations. Digital evidence, including mobile phone data, has been seized and is being examined as part of the probe. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details are expected as the probe progresses.
