Mumbai is set to immerse itself in the nostalgic world of the iconic American sitcom ‘Friends’ with the upcoming ‘The Friends Experience,’ an exhibition that promises to transport fans into the show’s most memorable settings. Scheduled to open to the public on June 19, 2026, the exhibition will be held at the Jio World Garden in Bandra Kurla Complex and will run until July 12, 2026.
Reliving Iconic Moments and Sets
More than two decades after its final episode aired, ‘Friends’ continues to captivate audiences across generations. The exhibition offers Mumbaikars a unique opportunity to step directly into the universe of the beloved 1990s sitcom. The immersive experience is a collaborative effort between District by Zomato, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, Original X Productions, and Warner Bros. Television Group. This marks the first time ‘The Friends Experience’ will be hosted in India, having previously visited over 33 cities worldwide since its inception in 2019.
Upon arrival, visitors will have the chance to select their favorite character from the show’s six main leads—Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe. This choice will determine their themed wristband, setting the stage for their journey into the recreated world of ‘Friends.’ The exhibition meticulously brings to life the show’s most iconic locations, including detailed replicas of Monica’s apartment and Joey and Chandler’s apartment, complete with their famous recliners, Hugsy the stuffed penguin, and the dartboard. Fans will also be able to revisit the memorable ‘Pivot!’ scene with a recreated staircase and pose at the fountain featured in the show’s opening credits.
Central Perk Replica and Memorabilia
A central highlight of the exhibition is the full-scale replica of Central Perk, the show’s iconic coffee shop. Featuring the signature orange couch and other familiar elements, it provides visitors with a perfect spot to relax and soak in the nostalgic atmosphere. The exhibition will also showcase original memorabilia, costumes, scripts, early set designs, and props, offering a comprehensive look at the making of the beloved sitcom.
The Indian Express reported that the exhibition is designed to allow fans to recreate some of the sitcom’s most memorable moments, celebrating the show’s 10-season run. Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the exhibition aims to provide an authentic and immersive journey for fans, allowing them to connect with the show on a deeper level.
A Nostalgic Journey for Fans
The ‘Friends’ Experience is designed to be more than just a viewing of memorabilia; it’s an interactive journey. Visitors can engage with the sets, take photos, and immerse themselves in the world that has defined a generation’s viewing habits. The exhibition’s arrival in Mumbai is a significant event for the show’s extensive fanbase in India, offering a tangible connection to the characters and stories that have resonated with them for decades.
The collaboration with District by Zomato highlights a growing trend of integrating popular culture with entertainment and hospitality. The Jio World Garden in Bandra Kurla Complex is set to become a hub for ‘Friends’ enthusiasts from June 19 to July 12, 2026, offering a unique opportunity to relive the magic of the show.
