Jammu and Kashmir: Sanasar Hosts Yoga Prelude Ahead of International Yoga Day

Sanasar, a picturesque tourist destination in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, buzzed with activity as hundreds participated in a pre-International Yoga Day event themed ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing.’ The event, organized by the Directorate of AYUSH J&K in collaboration with the District Administration Ramban, aimed to promote health and wellness through yoga.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the celebration unfolded against the backdrop of Sanasar’s scenic rolling meadows, dense pine forests, and a serene lake. The gathering saw enthusiastic participation from officials, students, yoga practitioners, and local residents from across the Ramban district.

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Arun Gupta, were among those present. They actively participated in various yoga asanas alongside the attendees. Both officials also led a collective pledge, encouraging individuals to integrate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

The programme underscored the significant benefits of yoga in fostering physical fitness, enhancing mental well-being, and promoting healthy ageing across all age demographics. Experts and participants alike highlighted yoga’s efficacy in stress reduction, improving flexibility, and elevating overall life quality. The serene and pollution-free environment of Sanasar, often lauded as one of Jammu and Kashmir’s most beautiful hill stations, provided an ideal setting for the yoga practice, contributing a unique charm to the event.
