A Delhi Police constable sustained injuries when a car allegedly collided with his motorcycle in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area, police reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 19, around 8 p.m., on KC Goyal Marg. Constable Jitender Kumar, attached to the Ashok Vihar police station, was on duty at the time of the accident.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that preliminary investigations revealed a car, driven by a woman identified as Oshin Gupta, purportedly struck the constable’s motorcycle. The vehicle was allegedly being operated in a rash and negligent manner, which investigators believe led to the collision.
The injured constable was promptly transported to DCB Hospital for medical attention. Subsequent verification by authorities uncovered that the driver, Oshin Gupta, was reportedly not in possession of a valid driving licence at the time of the incident.
A case has been registered against the driver under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. The Delhi Police have stated that further investigation into the matter is ongoing to ascertain all details surrounding the accident.
