A gangster identified as Goldy Dhillon has claimed responsibility for an alleged firing incident targeting the office of a property dealer in Rajpura, a town in the Patiala district of Punjab. The purported claim, made through a social media post that has gone viral, also includes threats directed at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Rajpura, Neena Mittal, and members of her family.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the incident involved two masked individuals who reportedly fired approximately eight rounds at the premises of Laxmi Property Dealer near an underbridge in Rajpura before fleeing the scene on a two-wheeler. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The viral social media post, allegedly originating from an account named “Goldy Dhillon,” explicitly names Rana Dhillon and the Goldy Dhillon gang as the perpetrators of the attack. The post further contains explicit threats aimed at MLA Neena Mittal. However, the veracity of these claims has not been independently verified by authorities, and the police have not officially confirmed any link between the social media post and the firing incident.
According to eyewitness accounts, one of the individuals entered the property dealer’s office and inquired about the owner, Ramesh Pahuja. Upon being informed by a female employee that Pahuja was not present, the individual allegedly brandished a revolver and discharged firearms before making a swift exit with his accomplice.
Local law enforcement responded promptly to the incident. Rajpura City Station House Officer (SHO) Gursewak Singh, alongside Patiala SHO Pradeep Bajwa and other police officials, arrived at the location shortly after the incident to initiate a thorough investigation into the matter. The police are reportedly examining CCTV footage from the vicinity and gathering evidence to identify the suspects.
In response to the allegations and the subsequent social media claims, AAP MLA Neena Mittal described the incident as “very unfortunate.” Addressing the accusations of land grabbing and business associations with property dealers, Mittal stated that Laxmi Property has been a recognized entity in the area for approximately two to three decades, operating independently. She categorically denied any involvement or business interests of her family or herself with the property dealer or his dealings.
The property dealer’s office, Laxmi Property Dealer, is situated in a busy area of Rajpura. The nature of the business, which involves property transactions, can sometimes lead to disputes, although the specific motives behind this alleged firing remain under investigation. Police are exploring all possible angles, including personal rivalries, business disputes, or extortion attempts, to ascertain the full context of the incident.
The involvement of a gangster claiming responsibility adds a layer of concern regarding organized crime in the region. Goldy Dhillon is described as a known gangster in the area. The police are expected to intensify their efforts to apprehend the individuals involved and to investigate the operations of the gang mentioned in the social media post. The threats against a public representative underscore the seriousness of the situation and the need for a swift and comprehensive investigation to restore public confidence.
The incident has drawn attention to security concerns in Rajpura and the broader Patiala district. Authorities are under pressure to not only identify and arrest the shooters but also to address the underlying issues that may have led to such an event, including potential links to organized criminal activities and threats against elected officials. The investigation is ongoing, with police appealing to the public for any information that could aid their inquiry.
