A tourist from South Africa has died in the Parbati valley of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Daniel Johannes Rosso, a resident of South Africa.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that local residents rushed Rosso to the Community Health Centre at Jari after his health suddenly deteriorated. However, medical personnel declared him brought dead upon arrival.
The Manikaran police were promptly informed and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tourist’s death. Preliminary findings suggest the possibility of a cardiac arrest, although the definitive cause of death will be ascertained following a post-mortem examination.
Kullu Superintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal confirmed that the incident has been registered and a comprehensive inquiry is currently in progress. The body has been transported to the Regional Hospital in Kullu for the mandatory post-mortem procedure. Police officials indicated that Rosso was brought to the medical facility in an unconscious state.
The South African Embassy in New Delhi has been notified of the incident. Authorities have also initiated contact with the deceased’s family members in South Africa to convey the unfortunate news and facilitate necessary arrangements.
