A madrasa student from the Saroor area of Drabshalla tehsil in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, who had gone missing from his educational institution, has been traced in Jammu and safely reunited with his family, bringing relief to his relatives and local residents.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the missing student, identified as Shahnawaz Ahmed, was located in Jammu following sustained efforts by Police Post Drabshalla. The search operation was conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarters Ishan Gupta, and other concerned police officers.
Police officials said the team worked continuously to trace the whereabouts of the child after receiving information about his disappearance. Following coordinated efforts, the student was successfully located in Jammu and brought back to his native area.
After his recovery, Shahnawaz Ahmed was formally handed over to his family members. His return was welcomed by relatives and residents of the area, who had been concerned about his safety since he went missing.
Family members expressed gratitude to the police authorities for their prompt response and efforts in tracing the child. They acknowledged the role of the police team in ensuring the student’s safe return.
Local residents also appreciated the functioning of Police Post Drabshalla and its in-charge, Bhupinder Singh, for taking timely action in missing-person cases. Residents said swift intervention by law enforcement agencies is crucial in such cases and helps ensure the safety of children.
Sources familiar with the matter said this is the third missing child from the area to have been successfully traced by the Drabshalla Police team in recent months. The recoveries reflect continued efforts by local police authorities to respond quickly to sensitive cases involving missing children.
