VIJAYAWADA: Engineering graduates should not perceive their degrees as constraints but as strong foundations for exploring a wide array of career paths, including management, civil services, entrepreneurship, and liberal arts. This advice was delivered by speakers at a career guidance seminar organized by The Hindu Future India Club (FIC) in collaboration with SRM-A.P. University and the Dhanekula Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET).

Duvvuri Satyanarayana, a professor of practice at the Paari School of Business, emphasized that there is no singular route to success. He illustrated this point by sharing three distinct career journeys: an engineering graduate who transitioned to an MBA and achieved success, a science graduate who moved into history and economics before entering the civil services, and an engineer who remained within the technical field and eventually became an entrepreneur. Satyanarayana urged students to avoid limiting their ambitions based on their current academic discipline, stressing that strong ambition, continuous learning, determination, and personal ownership are crucial for shaping successful careers. He likened individuals to potters who transform basic materials into valuable products, highlighting the power of personal choices and efforts in shaping one’s future.
