Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various areas of the Kashmir division in the coming days. These disruptions are necessary for essential maintenance and upgrade work on the power distribution network.
Information was available with The Chenab Times detailing the specific lines and the affected regions. The Chief Engineer Distribution, KPDCL, stated that a shutdown of the 33 KV Kanir Tapline will impact power supply to Barwah, Nowpora, Kralwari Zoohama, Kanir, Hushroo, Hanjoora, Kheerigund, Chanagund, and Dadaompora, along with adjoining areas. This shutdown is slated for August 17 and August 20, 2026, between 8 AM and 2 PM.
In parallel, the 33 KV Amargarh SIDCO line will undergo maintenance, leading to power outages in Seer, Chackloo, Rohama, Ladoora, and surrounding localities. Consumers in these areas can expect disruptions on August 17, 2026, from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Further disruptions are planned for the 33 KV Arampora Handwara Old line. Consequently, power supply to Zachaldara, Wadipora, Changimulla, Qalmabad, and adjacent areas will be affected on August 19 and August 22, 2026, during the hours of 8 AM to 2 PM.
The KPDCL has also scheduled a shutdown for the 33 KV Arampora Handwara Hot line. This will result in affected power supply to Handwara Town, Marathgam, Kulangam, Kandi, Sagipora, Chogal, and neighbouring settlements on August 18 and August 21, 2026, from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Additionally, the Receiving Station Kremshore will be subject to maintenance. Power supply to Old Kremshore, Arigam, Nunner, Shamsabad, Dreygam, Arampora, Parnewa, Essential, and their surrounding areas will be interrupted on August 17, 2026, between 8 AM and 2 PM.
The 33 KV HMT line and the 33 KV Shariefabad Narbal line are also part of the maintenance schedule. This will cause power outages in HMT, Bakshipora, Zainakote, Mustafabad, Umerabad, Hagibagh, Narbal, Kawoosa, Lawaypora, Suzaith, Sanoor, Malpora, Redbugh, Railway Station Mazhama, and nearby regions. The duration for these shutdowns is from 8 AM to 1 PM on August 18, 2026.
Finally, the 33 KV Wanpoh-Ashajipora Malaknag DC line is scheduled for shutdown. This will affect power supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Malaknag, Reshibazar, Janglat Mandi, Shirpora, Nowgam, and adjoining localities. These power outages are expected on August 17, August 20, and August 24, 2026, from 8 AM to 2 PM.
These scheduled shutdowns are a routine part of maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the electricity infrastructure in the region. Residents in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in anticipation of these temporary power interruptions.
