SRINAGAR: In recognition of their bravery and service, 38 personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police force have been awarded the prestigious Medal for Gallantry (GM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2026. The official list of awardees details personnel from various ranks who have demonstrated exceptional courage.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the recipients include officers and constables, with four personnel being recognized with repeat Gallantry Medals for their sustained valor. Notably, Head Constable Rayeesh Ahmad Reshi has received his first bar to the Gallantry Medal, signifying a second award. Similarly, Selection Grade Constable Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohinder Singh have also been awarded their first bars.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sarfaraz Bashir has earned the distinction of being awarded the second bar to his Gallantry Medal, underscoring a significant and repeated demonstration of bravery.

Saksena (IPS), Nasir Ahmad, Kalu Din, Adit Kumar Nad, Divya D. (IPS), Mohd Usman, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, Khurshid Ahmed Wani, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Ab. Rashid Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad, Mohamad Shafi Banday, Abdul Rashid, Zahoor Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad, Pande Rajiv Omprakash (IPS), Dheeraj Kumar, Shakir Hassan, Vikram Nag, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, and Tariq Ahmad.
