Jason Chandler, commander of the public affairs bureau, the person who discovered the scene reported seeing a woman lying unconscious outside her vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found the woman with trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been publicly released, and authorities have not confirmed if she was a resident of Fairfax County or the immediate area.
The incident occurred in a parking area that provides access to several trails. Detectives have secured the scene and are actively canvassing the area for potential witnesses and surveillance footage that could shed light on the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death. A section of Georgetown Pike was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation.
