Jammu: Security Forces Launch Extensive Search Operations in Udhampur, Reasi, Kathua Districts

Jammu, August 18: Security forces have initiated extensive search operations across multiple locations in the Udhampur, Reasi, and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir following intelligence reports regarding the movement of suspected individuals.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the coordinated search efforts involve the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The operations were launched after specific information was received about the presence of two suspected individuals.

According to official accounts, these individuals reportedly approached a residence in Talot village, Udhampur district, late Monday night, seeking food. Despite repeated knocks on the door that went unanswered for several minutes, the residents became concerned and subsequently alerted the security forces. The suspects, described as wearing shawls, were last seen heading towards the Khuban area.

Swiftly responding to the alert, joint teams comprising police and CRPF personnel were deployed to the village and immediately commenced a cordon-and-search operation. This action is part of a broader security strategy to enhance vigilance and preempt any potential threats in the region.

In addition to the Udhampur operation, security forces also conducted search operations in the forested areas of Sadini in Reasi district. Furthermore, similar operations were undertaken in several villages situated near the International Border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. These areas have been identified as sensitive due to their proximity to the border, necessitating heightened security measures.

Officials confirmed that the search operations are currently ongoing in all specified areas where recent reports of suspicious movement have surfaced. The comprehensive nature of these operations underscores the commitment of security agencies to maintain peace and order and ensure the safety of residents across the sensitive border districts of the Jammu region. Further details are expected to be released as the operations progress and more information becomes available.
