Doda, Aug 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has reconstituted the District Congress Committee (DCC) Doda and appointed a new team of office bearers, block presidents and town presidents with immediate effect. The appointments were approved by AICC In-charge General Secretary Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain and notified by JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra through an official order issued on August 21.
Under the new organizational structure, Om Prakash Parihar, Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Riaz Ahmed Zargar, Lalita Devi, Mohd Abass Rather, Asgar Hussain Khanji, Om Prakash Bhagat, Urfi Majeed Wani, Mohd Shafi Magray and Abdullah Banday have been appointed as Vice Presidents of the District Congress Committee Doda. The party has also named Kuldeep Kumar Lucky, Sajad Ahmed Mir, Zakir Hussain Zargar, Ram Singh, Asif Iqbal, Rafiq Ahmed, Rajinder Kumar Thakur, Vijay Kumar Hiteshi, Rashid Mughal, Shah Mohammad Mir, Imran Tariq Najar, Kamar Din, Mudassir Hussain Lone, Advocate Joginder Singh, Mohd Muazzain Shaker, Brijesh Sharma and Sayed Khan as General Secretaries.
The notification further appoints Akhter Hussain Zargar, Jaffar Ahmed Bhat, Javaid Ahmed (Jhakyas), Manzoor Ahmed Padder, Noushina Banoo, Tariq Ahmed Sheikh, Ranjeet Singh, Joginder Singh Charak, Abdul Hafeez Yajdaan, Imtaiz Ahmed Shiekh, Ch Noor Mahi, Mohd Ashraf Malik, Mohd Sadeeq Wani, Smaya Banoo, Taskeen Ahmed, Tanveer Ahmed Jaleel and Mohd Iqbal Malik as Secretaries of the District Congress Committee. Ishtiaq Ahmed Naik has been appointed Treasurer, Adil Gafoor Ganai has been named Spokesperson, while Shivam Sharma will serve as Social Media Coordinator. Altaf Hussain Malik, Kuldeep Kumar Kotwal and Bodh Raj Chib have been included as Executive Members of the committee.
As part of the organizational reshuffle, the party has also appointed presidents for Block Congress Committees across Doda district. Thakur Lal Bhagat has been named president for Gandoh block, Fayaz Ahmad for Changa, Farman Malang Gujjer for Chilli Pingal, Irshad Hussain for Jhakyas, Zaffer Ullah Magray for Kahra, Mohd Altaf Butt for Thathri, Irshad Ahmad for Chiralla, Mohd Sadeeq Hajam for Ghat, Mohd Iqbal See for Dali Udyanpur, Riyaz Ahmad Bhat for Gundana, Mohd Sikander for Bhagwah, Mohd Shafeeq for Kastigarh, Daleep Kumar Bhagat for Assar, Mohd Khateeb Jaral for Marmat, Advocate Naseer Babar for Khalleni, Shahid Pervaiz for Bhalla and Naresh Manhas for Bhaderwah.
The notification also names new Town Congress Committee presidents. Irshad Ahmed Bhat has been appointed president of the Town Congress Committee Thathri, Mudasir Hussain Banday will head the Town Congress Committee Doda, while Suhail Malik has been appointed president of the Town Congress Committee Bhaderwah.
The latest appointments mark a significant organizational exercise by the Congress party in Doda district as it seeks to strengthen its grassroots structure ahead of future political engagements. The newly constituted district body brings together senior leaders, experienced party workers and younger functionaries from different parts of the district, reflecting an attempt by the party leadership to broaden representation within its organizational framework.
The order further states that all heads of frontal organizations, cells and departments of the party, along with former District Development Council members and former chairpersons of Municipal Committees and Block Development Councils, shall serve as ex-officio members of the District Congress Committee Doda.
