Srinagar, Aug 24: Jammu and Kashmir is expected to experience no significant weather activity until the end of August, with only isolated brief showers anticipated between August 29 and 31. However, the first week of September is likely to bring hot and humid conditions across the Union Territory, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar’s forecast issued on Monday.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar stated that between August 14 and August 28, the weather is predicted to remain generally hot and humid. This period may also see a spell of rain accompanied by thundershowers at scattered places, occurring during the early morning and afternoon hours.
From August 29 to August 31, the weather pattern is expected to continue with similar conditions. Residents can anticipate brief but intense spells of rain and thundershowers at many places during the early morning and afternoon hours, marking the final days of August.
Looking ahead to the next month, the trend is projected to persist, with generally hot and humid weather continuing from September 1 to September 5. This period will also include intermittent spells of rain or thunderstorms at scattered places during the early morning and afternoon hours.
In an advisory issued on Monday, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar provided guidance for farmers. They were advised to continue with harvesting operations and other essential farming activities, taking into account the prevailing weather conditions and the forecast for the coming weeks.
