Srinagar, August 28: The body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the Jhelum River near the Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar on Friday, officials reported. The discovery has prompted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the body was initially spotted in the river and subsequently retrieved by local residents. Following the recovery, the woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital.
Medical professionals at the hospital examined the deceased and declared her brought dead upon arrival. Authorities have stated that the identity of the woman remains unknown at this time.
A comprehensive process has been initiated to ascertain the identity of the deceased and to investigate the cause of death.
