Srinagar, Aug 31: On the death anniversary of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, Ashok Bhan, Chairman of the Kashmir Policy and Strategy Group, paid tribute to the late statesman, characterizing him as a formidable leader, a staunch constitutionalist, and an academic whose public life exemplified the highest ideals of Indian democracy.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that Bhan highlighted Mukherjee’s trajectory from humble beginnings in a West Bengal village to assuming the nation’s highest constitutional office, a journey defined by intellect, modesty, extensive experience, and an unwavering dedication to public service.
Bhan noted that Mukherjee possessed a rare comprehension of India’s political framework and the intricacies of its democratic evolution, earning him widespread respect across the political spectrum.
