Jammu and Kashmir: KPDCL Announces Power Shutdowns Across Several Areas

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in multiple areas across the Kashmir division over the coming days. The outages are necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and upgrade work on the power distribution network.

Power Interruption in Humhama and Adjoining Areas

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL stated that a shutdown of the 33 KV Airforce line is planned. This will result in a disruption of power supply to Humhama, Jeelani Abad, Co-operative Colony, Nadroo, Sheikhpora, PHQ, Airport, Hyderpora, and the surrounding localities. The power outage is scheduled to occur on September 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM.

Scheduled Outages for Awantipora-Sangam Line

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating further power disruptions affecting different regions. A shutdown of the 33 KV Awantipora-Sangam-2nd line has been announced. Consequently, power supply to Siamoh, K-koot, Kiagam, Hariparigam, Chakoora, Gulzarpora, Panzgam, Railway, and adjacent areas will be impacted. These outages are scheduled for September 8, September 12, and September 15, 2026, each day from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.

The KPDCL has urged residents in the affected areas to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements to mitigate the inconvenience caused by these planned shutdowns. These interruptions are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the power supply infrastructure in the region.
