JAMMU, Sept 5: Jammu-based dermatologist Dr Mubashar Mashqoor Mir has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the IMA Academy of Medical Specialities (FIAMS), a national academic distinction conferred by the specialist wing of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
The fellowship was presented to Dr Mir during the IMA Academy of Medical Specialities National Convocation held at Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute, Hubballi, as part of AMSCON 2026. The honour recognises medical specialists for their professional achievements, academic contributions and service to healthcare.
With this recognition, Dr Mir joins a select group of medical professionals from Jammu and Kashmir to receive the FIAMS fellowship in the field of dermatology.
Dr Mir is the Founder and Chief Consultant of Cosmoweave Skin, Laser & Hair Transplant Centre in Jammu. He holds qualifications including MBBS, MD (Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy), DNB (Dermatology), MNAMS and FIAMS, and is a Life Member of the IMA Academy of Medical Specialities.
Over the years, he has built a notable academic and clinical profile. He previously served as Assistant Professor and In-charge Head of the Department of Dermatology at Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur. His scholarly contributions include 22 research publications, authorship of two dermatology books and contributions to three textbooks published by the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL).
Speaking after receiving the fellowship, Dr Mir described the recognition as an encouragement to continue advancing patient care, academic research and professional excellence in dermatology.
His areas of expertise include clinical dermatology, laser procedures, acne-scar surgery, hair restoration and follicular unit extraction (FUE), pigmentary disorders and aesthetic dermatology.
