Jammu, Sep 07: Six individuals allegedly involved in criminal activities have been apprehended by the police on the outskirts of Jammu. Authorities recovered a pistol, along with several sharp-edged weapons, from the possession of the arrested men in the Arnia area.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the individuals, identified as residents of Bishnah, are suspected members of the Khouf Gang. This gang is accused of threatening a local resident of Kool Kalan, Ashwani Kumar, on September 3 by brandishing a pistol and sharp-edged weapons, locally known as ‘tokkas’.

Following the complaint lodged by the victim, the police initiated an investigation. The operation culminated in the arrest of all six accused. During the apprehension, officers seized one pistol equipped with a magazine, three live rounds, and five ‘tokkas’.

The police have indicated that further investigations are underway to determine the extent of their involvement in other criminal incidents in the region. The recoveries suggest a potential pattern of intimidation and violence orchestrated by the alleged gang.

The arrests and seizures highlight the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in the Jammu region to maintain law and order and curb criminal elements operating in border and peripheral areas. The police are reportedly expanding their inquiries to uncover any wider networks or conspiracies involving the apprehended individuals. The investigation aims to gather more evidence to build a strong case against the accused.
