The Producers Guild of Korea (PGK) and Italy’s CNA Cinema e Audiovisivo have formalized a co-production agreement, aiming to foster greater collaboration and information exchange between the film industries of the two nations.

The Chenab Times has learned that the pact, established at the Busan International Film Festival’s film market, will facilitate the sharing of knowledge regarding public funding opportunities and introduce direct communication channels for producers from both countries.

This strategic alliance builds upon the existing government-level co-production treaty between South Korea and Italy, providing a more direct framework for industry professionals to engage in joint ventures.

The agreement is expected to streamline the process of developing and financing international film projects, potentially leading to a greater number of collaborative productions that leverage the unique creative strengths and market access of both South Korea and Italy.

Producers involved in the initiative will benefit from enhanced access to information on financial incentives available in each territory, as well as insights into navigating the regulatory landscapes for co-productions. This collaborative spirit is anticipated to unlock new creative possibilities and expand the global reach of films originating from both nations.
