Additionally, an honorarium of Rs 1,100 was designated for the chief Gur (oracle) of each deity, and each participating Mahila Mandal is set to receive Rs 35,000.

In terms of infrastructure development, the Chief Minister allocated Rs 5 crore for the tarring of the Left Bank road from Kullu to Manali and an additional Rs 5 crore for the construction of the Manikaran road. A sum of Rs 22 crore was also sanctioned for a sewerage system in Bhuntar, alongside the announcement of an electricity subdivision to be opened in the town. Addressing healthcare improvements, Chief Minister Sukhu stated that the Kullu Regional Hospital would receive enhanced support with specialist doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. The hospital is also slated to be equipped with advanced medical technology.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to augmenting rural incomes, Mr. Sukhu announced that the minimum support price (MSP) for ginger would be increased to Rs 40 per kg in the near future. This measure is intended to provide financial relief to farmers and contribute to the strengthening of the rural economy.

The Chief Minister critiqued the previous BJP administration, alleging a weakening of education and healthcare services under its tenure. He asserted that the current government is actively engaged in reinforcing the infrastructure within both these vital sectors. Describing Himachal Pradesh as a land intrinsically connected with deities, he highlighted the evolution of Kullu Dasehra into an event of international significance. He also defended the government’s administrative reforms, operating under the slogan “Vyavastha Parivartan,” and countered accusations from the BJP regarding the state’s economic health, restating his government’s dedication to achieving self-reliance for Himachal Pradesh.

Mr. Sukhu also flagged off the Kullu Carnival, an event that saw the participation of over 600 women and artists. He commended the Kullu Dasehra Festival Committee, particularly its chairman and MLA Sunder Singh Thakur, for their efforts in elevating the festival’s stature.

Prior to these announcements, the Chief Minister paid his respects at the Raghunath Temple, offering prayers for the well-being, prosperity, and peace of the state’s populace. He also presided over the sixth cultural evening, inaugurated the traditional Lalri dance, and witnessed laser and drone displays. The global dance programme featured performances by international artists from Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the United States, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The acclaimed Sufi singer Satinder Sartaaj also captivated the audience with his performance.

Mr. Thakur extended his thanks to the Chief Minister for the various announcements and expressed his gratitude to officials, employees, public representatives, and residents for their contributions to the successful organisation of the festival.
