Sinha Directs Officials to Ensure Safety of Stranded Persons After Zojila Avalanche
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the wake of a tragic avalanche at Zojila in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Lieutenant Governor has extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and urged for the swift recovery of the injured.
The Chenab Times has learned that Sinha spoke with senior officials overseeing the rescue efforts and took stock of the situation. He emphasized the need to ensure the safety of all individuals stranded due to the avalanche and directed authorities to provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the incident.
The avalanche struck the strategic Zojila Pass, a crucial link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the Ladakh region, leading to disruptions and potential casualties. Rescue teams were immediately deployed to the site to manage the situation and provide aid.
In his statement, Lieutenant Governor Sinha expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of life. “Deeply pained by the loss of precious lives due to the tragic avalanche at Zojila. My heart goes out to the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” he said.
The administration has been actively involved in coordinating the response, ensuring that all available resources are utilized for rescue operations.
