Jammu, March 30: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented seven reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, alongside the Finance and Appropriation Accounts, before the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Saturday. The presentations were made during the ongoing Budget Session of the assembly.
CAG Reports Cover Key Sectors
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the seven CAG reports tabled by the Chief Minister encompass audits of various significant sectors. These include a performance audit on Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services, with the report covering the period ending March 2022. Another performance audit focused on the Working of the University of Jammu for the same period.
Further presentations included a performance audit on the Conservation and Management of Lakes in Jammu and Kashmir, also pertaining to the period ending March 2022. The assembly also received a compliance audit report on Revenue and Public Sector Undertakings, along with a composite audit report covering civil departments, both for the period ending March 2022.
In addition, two more audit reports were tabled: a compliance audit report on civil departments for the period ending March 2023, and a report on the Union Territory’s Revenue for the period ending March 2023. The CAG reports are numbered 2 of 2025 (Public Health), 3 of 2025 (University of Jammu), 4 of 2025 (Lakes Management), 05 of 2025 (Revenue and PSUs), 06 of 2025 (Composite Audit – Civil), 7 of 2025 (Compliance Audit – Civil-1), and 1 of 2026 (UT Revenue).
Financial Accounts Presented
In addition to the audit reports, the Chief Minister also laid the Finance Accounts for the financial year 2024-25, presented in two volumes. The Appropriation Accounts for the same financial year, 2024-25, were also presented before the House. These financial documents provide a detailed overview of the government’s revenue and expenditure for the specified fiscal period.
