Srinagar: Gunshots were reported on Tuesday evening during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Ahrama woods of Ganderbal district in central Kashmir. Security forces had launched the operation following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of militants in the area.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, a joint team comprising personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) initiated the search in Ahrama woods after receiving credible information about militant activity.
During the extensive search, sporadic gunfire was heard from the wooded area, prompting security forces to reinforce the cordon. Sources indicated that at least two militants are believed to be trapped in the operation zone.
