Khyber Cement has announced its role as a supporting partner for the Census 2027 Summit, an event focused on shaping India’s artificial intelligence-driven future. The summit, held in Jammu, aims to deliberate on the roadmap for India’s first digital-native census, positioning Khyber Cement within the region’s broader digital transformation efforts.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Directorate of Census Operations hosted the summit, with Governance Now serving as the organiser. The event convened senior administrators, policymakers, and technology experts to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into census operations, signifying a move towards data-driven governance frameworks.

The summit featured Atal Dulloo as the Chief Guest and Amit Sharma as the Programme Chair, alongside a panel of national and international experts. Organisers emphasised that the event was a crucial step in preparing for the proposed Census 2027 exercise, which is anticipated to utilise advanced digital tools and AI-based methodologies for efficient data collection and analysis.

Umar Tramboo, highlighting the company’s involvement, stated that the partnership signifies Khyber Cement’s commitment to both structural and technological advancements in Jammu and Kashmir. He remarked, “Our association with the Census 2027 Summit is a strategic commitment to the structural and technological advancement of Jammu and Kashmir. As the nation pivots toward an AI-driven future, we are focused on ensuring that the physical infrastructure of our region is as resilient and sophisticated as the digital systems being developed.”

Khyber Cement articulated that its participation underscores the critical link between digital transformation and the physical infrastructure that supports it. The company noted that while data systems are instrumental in shaping governance, the underlying infrastructure provides the essential foundation for such transitions. This perspective aligns with the company’s broader strategic vision, which extends beyond its core industrial operations.

The cement company’s engagement also encompasses areas related to regional development, including the promotion of sustainable urban infrastructure and the advancement of technological awareness within the community. This expanded focus reflects Khyber Cement’s dedication to contributing to the long-term development of the region.

Originating in the Kashmir Valley, Khyber Cement reiterated its commitment to supporting the region’s development. The company aims to achieve this through continued infrastructure support and active participation in policy-oriented platforms that foster growth and innovation. The summit in Jammu serves as a platform for these discussions, bringing together key stakeholders to chart a course for the future of national data collection and governance.
