North Kashmir: Vendor Injured as Tree Falls Amid Gusty Winds in Bandipora

SRINAGAR: A non-local street vendor sustained injuries on Monday in Sumbal, North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, after a tree was uprooted and fell on him amidst strong gusty winds.

The injured individual has been identified as Ratish Kumar, a 25-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was operating his gol gappa stall near the Sumbal Bridge. He was residing in Sumbal Colony at the time of the incident.

According to details available with The Chenab Times, intense winds led to the uprooting of a willow tree, which subsequently fell on Mr. Kumar, causing him to be injured.

Local residents immediately responded to the scene and transported Mr. Kumar to the Community Health Centre in Sumbal for initial medical attention. Medical authorities later referred him to JVC Hospital in Srinagar to receive advanced treatment. His condition has been reported as stable.

The strong winds, described as gusty, also caused damage across several areas in North Kashmir. Reports indicate that rooftops and boundary walls were affected, and numerous trees were uprooted in various locations. The weather-related disruptions led to temporary interruptions in movement and daily activities in some of the affected areas, according to officials.
