A man has been accused of fatally shooting his mother and younger brother following an escalating dispute over ancestral property in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district on Sunday. The incident occurred in the Baberu town area, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that police were alerted around noon to the alleged shooting by Rajkishore Mishra. The victims, identified as his mother Shanti, 60, and younger brother Devidin, 35, were immediately transported to a local hospital. Medical personnel pronounced both deceased upon arrival. The bodies have since been sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the ongoing investigation.
Preliminary findings suggest that the alleged perpetrator harboured resentment over his father’s prior sale of a portion of the family’s ancestral land.
