Police in Budgam district have concluded the initial phase of their investigation into the murder of a minor girl from Galwanpora village, confirming that the accused acted alone. The probe included medico-legal, forensic, and evidentiary procedures following the arrest of the suspect.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the identity of the accused was withheld in the early stages of the investigation to prevent any prejudice to the ongoing legal and evidentiary processes. Following the completion of necessary formalities, the accused has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Galwanpora Sebdan, Budgam.
The investigation meticulously carried out by Budgam Police has established that no other individual was involved in the commission of the crime. The police have appealed to the public to maintain peace, communal harmony, and public order, urging cooperation with the investigating agencies. Citizens have been strongly advised against taking the law into their own hands or circulating rumours, speculative content, or unverified allegations, warning that strict legal action will be taken against any such violations.
