Ukraine launched hundreds of drones across Russia on Sunday in one of the largest aerial assaults of the conflict, resulting in at least six fatalities and significant damage.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 822 drones overnight, with a substantial number, 600, targeting the Russian capital, Moscow.
The heaviest casualties occurred in Russia’s southwestern Rostov region, where local Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed that five individuals were killed. Three towns within the region were reportedly attacked.
In a separate incident, an 83-year-old man lost his life when a Ukrainian drone struck a private residence in the Moscow region, according to initial reports.
The scale of the drone offensive marks a significant escalation in Ukraine’s aerial capabilities and its strategy to strike targets deep within Russian territory. These attacks aim to disrupt Russian logistics, infrastructure, and civilian morale.
Russia has consistently reported intercepting and downing a large number of Ukrainian drones.
